About The Position

Hillcrest Thrift is seeking a Production Associate to join their team. This role involves accepting and sorting donations, tagging and hanging items, and placing them on the sales floor. The associate will use solid judgment to determine acceptable donations, communicate with the Hillcrest Manager regarding incoming donations, and learn the point of sale system. Responsibilities also include opening and closing the store and donation center as needed, working with volunteers to make their experience meaningful, and maintaining effective working relationships with staff, volunteers, Hillcrest clients, and customers. The role requires answering the telephone, providing Hillcrest information, and meeting caller needs. Daily cleaning and straightening of donation areas, as well as regular maintenance of Hillcrest equipment and vehicles, are also part of the duties. This position is ideal for military experienced candidates, those with gaps in their resume, individuals re-entering the workforce with limited experience, and older job seekers. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • Must pass a criminal background check, sexual offender registry check, and drug screening.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license, maintain current automobile insurance, and maintain an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to follow written instructions, safety procedures, job aids, and company policies, and to communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, customers, and volunteers.

Responsibilities

  • Accept and sort donations.

  • Support volunteer engagement and supervision when applicable.
  • Comply with organizational policies, including confidentiality, safety, and operational procedures.
