About The Position

This is an entry-level manufacturing laborer position in a corrugated box manufacturing facility. The role involves following safety rules, understanding customer requirements, coordinating with team members, maintaining quality and production standards, performing set-up functions, monitoring production, preparing for set-ups, performing clean-up duties, making minor cutting die repairs, conducting quality inspections, learning operator duties, and performing other assigned tasks. Requirements

  • Ability to perform the duties/responsibilities of the job with or without accommodation
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
  • Ability to accurately read a measuring tape and ruler
  • Ability to use basic shop math
  • Ability to learn
  • Ability to follow instructions, ask questions, and work effectively as a member of a team
  • Stable Verifiable Work History (Recent)
  • Minimum 6 Months Experience in a Manufacturing Environment Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Following all safety rules and practices
  • Learning customer requirements and specifications by reading factory work orders, print cards, and design specifications
  • Coordinating activities with other machine crew members to efficiently set up and run orders
  • Maintaining quality and production standards as required by the company
  • Performing set up functions as directed by the operator (e.g., removing/attaching cutting dies, zeroing/opening/closing the machine, adjusting prefeeder, setting stacker and counter-ejector, recovering ink, washing ink filters, installing inks, cleaning/setting/adjusting glue application system, completing paperwork)
  • Continually monitoring the quality and quantity of production
  • Using available time to prepare for set ups and runs by obtaining protection sheets, obtaining and asiding tooling, ink, and other supplies, and tearing apart pallet cards
  • Performing assigned clean up functions (e.g., blowing down the machine, wiping off shafts, cleaning ink systems, vacuuming and sweeping the machine area, picking up and asiding miscellaneous scrap)
  • Performing minor cutting die repairs
  • Performing quality inspections and tests, and recording findings
  • Learning operator duties and responsibilities
  • Following prescribed practices in all circumstances
  • Performing other duties as assigned by supervision
