About The Position

The Production Associate supports the Badger Mission and Principles as a member of the Operations Team with specific responsibilities to manufacture products: which includes weighing ingredients, batching, and filling. All production work is done in accordance with all FDA and cGMP standard practices and meets all quality control specifications. The Production Associate job ranges from a level 1 to a level 4 as knowledge, skills, responsibility, and length of employment grow.

Requirements

  • Basic working knowledge of computers, including the MS Office suite
  • Ability to understand and comply with all safety standards and Regulatory/Quality/FDA requirements
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and through written means
  • Work within a team environment to perform tasks and problem solve
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • standing, bending, twisting, lifting; sometimes overhead, carrying, pushing and/or pulling objects up to 75lbs, grasping small objects re­peatedly throughout a typical 8-10 hour shift.
  • The ability to notice subtle changes in machinery (noises, smells, vibrations).
  • Applicants will be subject to a Post-Offer-Physical that includes a lift test.
  • Employee must be able to perform these essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

  • Meet our customers’ expectations by producing fresh, high-quality products
  • Understand and comply with all cGMP, FDA, QC specs, and safety requirements for working in Production
  • Identify and communicate any issues with product runs, or changes in machine/equipment to supervisor and quality as needed
  • Prepare boxes and labels, set-up and stage packaging/components, and prepare the lot coder
  • Demonstrate ability to perform line clearance and line check.
  • Understand and comply with cleaning requirements for anything coming in contact with raw materials or finished product
  • Understand inventory controls, and the allocating and transferring process for packaging materials
  • Actively work to ensure the safety of all team members
  • Ensure all safety standards and protocols are followed and make recommendations, as needed
  • Understand and perform cleaning/sanitation requirements for small implements, pumps, hose and tanks cleaned with carrier oil
  • Understand and comply with cleaning requirements for anything coming in contact with raw materials or finished product.
  • Understand and assist in filling out logs and completing necessary paperwork
  • Perform offloading procedures for all filling lines and the quality standards for each product
  • Ability to accurately use scales and weights to ensure correct product outcome
  • Demonstrate proficiency in all Level I requirements
  • Take on additional responsibilities/projects non-related to everyday production jobs (examples: laundry from People’s Linen, inventory of office/cleaning supplies)
  • Verify equipment for cleanliness and complete required paperwork
  • Perform raw material batching by pouring ingredients
  • Perform cleaning on vessels, hoses, and accessories - including COP & stationary equipment
  • Comprehension of vessel use for various product types, both OTC and non-OTC (cosmetic)
  • Proficient in cosmetic and OTC runs from set-up through completion on at least two lines with little supervision, have a basic knowledge of changeovers
  • Understand and accurately complete all logs and paperwork
  • Ability to investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve any discrepancies in inventory software for jobs
  • Demonstrate proficiency in all Level I and Level II requirements
  • Suggest ideas for improvements within the Production environment
  • Provide guidance and support to seasonal and new employees
  • Ability to complete simple/routine maintenance of equipment
  • Utilize machine timers and account for production calendars (holidays, weekends, etc)
  • Perform advanced cleaning on equipment requiring disassembly and reassembly
  • Batch and allocate jobs from start to finish
  • Independently pre-weigh and batch FDA products
  • Proficient in cosmetic and OTC runs from set-up through completion on all lines with little supervision, and ability to do changeovers
  • Understand and perform requirements for simple filling water-based products including testing needs and water safety, including comprehension of reverse osmosis system
  • Run all filling equipment proficiently, complete change overs, and trouble shoot problems
  • Demonstrate proficiency in all Level I, II, and III requirements
  • Perform job receipts, WIP queries, and inventory adjustments
  • Serve as a back-up for weekly scale validations and calibrations
  • Understand and perform the batching, filling, and cleaning process for complex and FDA products
  • Understand and perform the CIP process for the Bachilier equipment
  • Ability to collaborate with Quality during process validations
