The Production Associate – Refrigerant Separation plays a key role in Hudson Technologies' refrigerant processing operations. This position is responsible for supporting the safe and efficient separation and recovery of refrigerants using proprietary systems and industry-leading equipment. The associate ensures product integrity, compliance with environmental regulations, and contributes to our mission of sustainability.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to use hand tools, lift to 50 lbs, and stand for long periods.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • Willingness to work flexible shifts, including overtime and weekends if needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in refrigerant handling, HVACR, or manufacturing/production environments preferred.
  • Basic understanding of refrigerant types (e.g., R-22, R-410A, R-134a) and EPA regulations.
  • Forklift certification is a plus (or willingness to be certified).

Responsibilities

  • Operate refrigerant separation systems in accordance with Hudson’s SOPs and safety protocols.
  • Handle and process recovered refrigerant cylinders, ensuring proper labeling and documentation.
  • Work with process controllers and Hudson’s Human Machine Interface (HMI) platforms to control system pressures, temperatures, and flow rates during the separation process.
  • Collect refrigerant samples and perform quality checks on them to ensure purity standards are met.
  • Assist in preventative maintenance and minor troubleshooting of plant equipment.
  • Comply with all EPA and DOT guidelines regarding refrigerant handling, storage, and transport.
  • Accurately record data for production and environmental tracking purposes.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and clean workspace following 5S and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production targets and continuous improvement goals.
