AquaPhoenix Scientific, headquartered in Hanover, PA, has an immediate opening for a full-time Production Associate - Machine Operator. The Production Associate - Machine Operator is responsible for the accurate preparation of chemical reagents and the operation of specialized production equipment used to fill and seal ampules for water testing applications. This role follows established formulas, batch records, work orders, and standard operating procedures to consistently produce high-quality products that meet production schedules and quality standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and committed to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. Responsibilities include monitoring equipment and production processes, performing routine machine adjustments, troubleshooting minor operational issues, and identifying potential quality or equipment concerns before they impact production. Success in this position requires a strong focus on accuracy, quality, and continuous improvement while working both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Requirements

Minimum 3-years work experience in a high volume, fast-paced manufacturing environment.
High School Diploma or GED is required.
Accountability for production output, accuracy, safety, and quality with a high degree of attention to detail.
Familiarization with the product lines, required documentation requirements, and the production processes.
Basic to moderate mechanical skills with the abilities to understand and conduct machine set up, change overs, and resolve mechanical issues.
Verbal communication skills with the ability to follow and provide directions effectively.
Able to work overtime as required to meet business needs.
Speak, read and write English clearly in order to read and interpret technical manuals and/or instructions.
Wear appropriate PPE as required by Company and OSHA standards.
Demonstrate a positive work ethic and a sense of urgency in completing work assignments; maintaining a proactive “can do” approach to all responsibilities.
Able to stand, sit, move, bend, twist for extended periods of time and safely lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to proactively lead, motivate, speak with, and train others.
Execute assignments in an ethical, accurate, timely, and safe manner with the ability to perform task through to completion.

Responsibilities

Review work orders, formulas, batch instructions, and production requirements prior to beginning a production run.
Accurately measure, prepare, and mix reagents according to established formulas, procedures, and specifications.
Monitor the production process throughout each run and identify equipment, material, or product issues that may affect quality, safety, or production efficiency.
Operate ampule-filling equipment to maintain accurate and consistent fill volumes and production output.
Perform routine machine adjustments and approved preventative maintenance to maintain proper equipment operation.
Work in collaboration with production management to prioritize daily production jobs.
Efficiently set up, calibrate, and organize all aspects of the machine and equipment in preparation for daily production runs. Maintain an organized work cell.
Thorough knowledge of all production processes, procedures, and mechanical instructions that are applicable to equipment. Read and comprehend manufacturing operating manuals.
Actively participate in any production role as needed to successfully meet the demands of the business.
Attend production meetings as required. Provide updates, identify bottlenecks, and review material or potential labor shortages and/or last-minute change orders. Proactively seek resolutions to issues and make recommendations for improvement.
Accurately track, record, and maintain production records and report out results as required.
With strong attention to detail, anticipate and recognize mechanical issues and/or production errors with or without clear precedent.
Responsible for housekeeping of the general production area around the machine including sweeping, picking up loose items, and prepping the machine for change orders and next day production.
Maintain a high degree of attention required to prevent injury to self and others; wear and enforce Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as requirements.
