About The Position

This position is responsible for assisting machine operators and leadhands to complete the daily production plan and ensuring that all products made meets the Company’s product quality standards. The incumbent is also responsible for filling out load tags and transferring finished products to the Shipping Department.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent qualification
  • Good verbal and written English language skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Self-starter
  • Detail oriented and ability to work well under pressure and with minimal supervision.
  • Physically fit
  • Ability to lift up to 25 – 60 lbs material

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in working in a food manufacturing plant a definite asset.
  • Experience in working in an assembly line a definite asset.

Responsibilities

  • Report any production abnormalities to Production management, such as unsafe working condition, machinery problems, product quality problems or problems with raw materials / supplies.
  • Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of the production floor and soybean unloading area.
  • Follow work safe procedures and wears protective equipment as required.
  • Ensure all production supplies and materials are closed and sealed with tape after use.
  • Teamwork with other employees and leadhands to meet the daily scheduled production volume.
  • Report observations of any deviation to the process/procedure or a defect or nonconformance to the product which may result in a situation requiring food safety assessment and placing product on hold or scrapping the product to management immediately.
  • Ensure the final product net weight is above the required packaged weight with correct code date.
  • Ensure that broken, cracked, chipped corner tofu is not packaged.
  • Substitute for other workers during meal break.
  • Work together with Leadhands to ensure labels or films are centered on the packages and are sealed with no leakers. Leakers and unaligned film packages are to be kept separately in large baskets.
  • Ensure all products are stacked on good, correct type of pallets and meets the “ti hi” requirement.
