About The Position

Smithfield Foods is seeking motivated individuals to join their team and build lasting careers. This role focuses on the responsibilities of a Raw Receiver, which includes scheduling load appointments, verifying SAP matches, tracking loads, communicating issues, and efficiently unloading raw materials. The Raw Receiver may also be responsible for scheduling and loading trucks and transferring materials. Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
  • Maintain computer inventory with SAP system.
  • Able to use Microsoft Office.
  • Possess the ability to function effectively in a team environment and interact productively with all levels of team personnel and outside contractors.
  • Ability to operate a forklift in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Understand and follow oral and written instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Receive meat orders.
  • Create the Weekly Inbound Log of appointment times based on the priority list.
  • Review and enter appointments received and verified via email or telephone.
  • Track and follow up on all rescheduled appointments and late deliveries.
  • Reach out to logistical services and transportation within 4 hours of a missed appointment time, including supervisor and meat scheduler on those emails.
  • Review orders entered in SAP daily, at shift start and mid-shift, and notify meat scheduler of any discrepancies as soon as they are noticed.
  • Communicate all internal and external issues and concerns within an hour of discovering the issue.
  • Resolve refused product and/or orders that are over, short and/or damaged as directed by QA, Process Control and/or Supervisor.
  • Schedule load appointments.
  • Ensure SAP matches the loads that were ordered.
  • Track loads that have not met their appointment times.
  • Communicate issues with loads internally and externally in a timely manner.
  • Unload raw materials in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Schedule and load trucks as needed.
  • Transfer materials and/or pallets to outside areas.
