Production Associate III - 1st Shift

About The Position

Dal-Tile is seeking a Production Associate III to support production of ceramic tile. The role operates a variety of equipment and performs manual functions to process raw materials. Depending on assignment, the associate may work with pressing, glazing, firing, cutting, sorting, packing, raw-material unloading and milling, or spray-drying operations. The associate follows ISO operating procedures and specified quality checks, monitors equipment and processes, reports problems to a supervisor, and keeps the work area safe, clean, and organized. Other related duties may be assigned.

Requirements

At least 1 year of experience operating equipment in a manufacturing environment; 2 years preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent experience.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Good listening skills.
Ability to read and understand procedures in English.

Responsibilities

Operate an automated press system, including body-material input, press equipment, and output conveyors.
Set up and operate a glaze-line system, ensuring the correct glaze is applied to ceramic tile.
Operate bisque and/or gloss firing kilns to maintain a steady flow of product through the kiln process.
Operate a water jet or gantry saw to cut ceramic tile.
Move tile cars to and from tray-stacking and unstacking equipment.
Operate an automatic sorting system that rejects defective tile; visually inspect tile and reject defective pieces.
Produce glaze or paste in sufficient quantities and on schedule to meet production requirements.
Glue tile boxes and stack them on pallets for shipping.
Unload raw materials from rail cars, position rail cars, manually spread materials to complete unloading, and operate milling equipment to pulverize raw materials.
Start and operate a spray dryer to ensure proper moisture in powder.
Follow ISO operating procedures and perform specified quality checks.
Monitor equipment and processes and report problems to a supervisor.
Keep the work area safe, clean, and organized.
Perform other related duties as required.
