About The Position

The Production Associate will perform intermediate production tasks for various stages for the processing of ceramic material into finished and semi-finished products, including mixing and canting, assembling, inspecting and packaging, and operating equipment and machinery, as needed. The associate must be proficient in basic machine operations, including molds, saws, and routers. Additionally, the associate must be able to measure the quality of the product through the use of measurement instrumentation. This role requires the ability to positively interact and work collaboratively with a diverse group of people, speak clearly and persuasively, understand and use basic mechanical skills, read and understand basic drawings and documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and Company Policies. Mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division are necessary, as well as the ability to perform calculations for measurements and work materials using a calculator. Flexibility in work schedule beyond a normal workday is also required.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED), Test Assessing Secondary Completion (TASC), highly desired or equivalent combination of education and life experiences.
  • Minimum of one (1) year manufacturing/machine operation experience or training.
  • Proficient in basic machine operations (molds, saws, routers).
  • Ability to measure product quality using measurement instrumentation.
  • Ability to positively interact and work collaboratively with a diverse group of people at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations, listen and obtain clarification, and respond well to questions.
  • Ability to understand and use basic mechanical skills.
  • Ability to read and understand basic drawings.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and Company Policies.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers.
  • Ability to perform mathematical skills in the forms of measurement and other work material calculations utilizing a calculator.
  • Communicate effectively in English by telephone, in person and in writing.
  • Effectively use a personal computer, office equipment and basic calculator.
  • Specific vision abilities require both up close and distant sight abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Perform the requirements of the Work Order.
  • Produce parts to required tolerances at an acceptable production rate.
  • Maintain workstation in a clean orderly manner.
  • Identify areas of improvement, cost and waste reduction.
