About The Position

Our level II Production Associates work within our door shop without supervision, utilizing saws, routers, pneumatic tools, and other small hand tools and power equipment to efficiently and safely machine and assemble custom doors and components in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) for the provided order paperwork and established quality expectations. This position is fully proficient in door shop Production Associate I duties and will occasionally machine and assemble pre-fabricated doors and components. This is a labor-intensive position that requires lifting and maneuvering heavy door panels and units. Individuals are regularly on their feet throughout the day. Safety is a priority. Requirements

  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English as it relates to the job and to the safety regulations.
  • Ability to adhere to all facets of safety policies and procedures, including wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as designated by OrePac’s safety program. Ability to perform all essential responsibilities of the job in a safe manner.
  • Ability to compute basic math problems to include addition, subtraction, and multiplication.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and the ability to follow established quality standards.
  • Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Mechanical aptitude. Experience with hand tools, power tools, and the ability to read a tape measure.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment within a team or individually with minimal to no supervision while achieving quality and timely completion of assigned tasks to achieve customer satisfaction.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 or more years of experience using mills, saws, joiners, nail guns, or other carpentry tools (preferred, but not required).

Responsibilities

  • Read and understand door work orders sent to the door shop for building. Stay up-to-date and knowledgeable about door terminology and various components to ensure accuracy of parts and pieces pulled.
  • Responsible for minor to intermediate assembly and preparation of custom doors and components utilizing prefabricated doors and components, saws, routers, pneumatic tools, and other small hand tools and power equipment. Based on the line, tasks may include (but are not limited to) the following: Cutting down heads and jambs, striking jambs, installing hinges, installing lites, cutting sills, applying weatherstripping, and nailing.
  • Completing tasks in accordance with SOP’s for the provided order paperwork and established quality expectations.
  • Safely operating the bander, tilt table, and tiger stop saw to complete various assembly and prep tasks.
  • May be required to complete minor to intermediate assembly and preparation of prefabricated doors and components.
  • Review order paperwork before beginning production to ensure accuracy of finished products. Review all products and orders before, during, and after production to ensure that quality standards are met before transferring products to the next stage of production and before packaging products for transportation. Utilize tablets and software for documentation.
  • Palletize, package and wrap, and stage doors in preparation for shipment to customers. Understand that product packaging must be done per specifications to prevent damage during transportation.
  • Work to maintain a safe and clean environment while achieving department productivity goals. Understand and follow OrePac safety rules and regulations.
  • Work with team and door shop leadership to analyze and resolve challenges, develop and implement improvements, and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Forklift duties may be assigned to this position to manipulate and move products. Any assigned forklift duties will first require taking and passing a forklift training course and obtaining a certificate. Forklift duties will include staging and/or stacking material neatly and safely, operating the forklift in a safe manner, filling the forklift with propane fuel, and regularly checking the forklift fluid levels.
