Production Associate I - 2nd Shift(Onsite)
About The Position
Collins Aerospace in Fairfield, CA is seeking a Production Associate I. The Propulsion Systems business of Collins Aerospace specializes in designing, manufacturing, and testing various energetic devices, including system components for safe pilot ejection from fighter jets and helicopters, and a range of cartridge-actuated, propellant-actuated, and linear devices for military and commercial applications. Safety is a paramount expectation for all employees, who are required to work safely, adhere to all safety rules and procedures, actively participate in the safety program, and complete all safety training in a timely manner. The Mission Systems team at Collins Aerospace supports civilian, military, and government customers in completing complex missions, providing intelligent and secure communications, missionized systems for specialized aircraft and spacecraft, and collaborative space solutions. This role is critical in ensuring customer success and anticipating future needs.
Requirements
- Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D. in the US) or vocational/technical education in related discipline.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Access (ATF).
Nice To Haves
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- 1 year of manufacturing experience preferred
- Experience using Citrix, SAP, Word and Excel
Responsibilities
- Sets up and assemble parts.
- Demonstrate proper use of simple hand and machine tools.
- Accurately read and follow procedures, routing and other work instructions.
- Responsible for quality product standards with no defects.
- Ensure creation of parts meet customer deadlines and expectations.
- Stay in compliance with applicable elements of quality systems.
- Participate in cost reduction plans and continuous improvement plans/events as required.
- Participate in audits.
- Acquires applicable skill/knowledge/certifications as required.
- Maintains materials, equipment, and work area in clean and orderly condition.
- Examines methods and results for conformance to standards and reinstruct as required.
- Report to lead or supervisor on work progress and updates including conditions surrounding failures to meet quality standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
