About The Position

The Production Associate (formerly Packer/Handler) ensures, through visual inspection, that all containers and lids are manufactured and packaged according to Amcor Corporation quality standards and guidelines in a safe and efficient manner. This role requires adherence to all EHS/GMP policies, maintaining a clean and organized work area, and inspecting finished products for quality compliance. The associate will set aside substandard products, notify leads/supervisors of quality issues, and respond promptly to quality concerns. Key tasks include assembling products by installing gaskets in lids and handling them onto containers, stacking/packaging products according to customer requirements, preparing product identification and packaging labels, assisting with material handling and line clearance/changeover functions, managing product flow through automation, and performing 5S and cleaning duties during machine downtime. Accurate completion of paperwork and miscellaneous duties as assigned are also part of the role. This position has no direct management or supervisory responsibilities.

  • Dependable, good attendance is required, and associates must report for work per their scheduled time.
  • Good communication skills, ability to follow directions and relay important information.
  • Ability to work alone and/or in a group setting.
  • Content doing routine work efficiently and safety-oriented mindset.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous production experience is favorable, but not required.
  • Being able to read, write and communicate in English.
  • Basic or Intermediate computer skills.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all EHS/GMP policies.
  • Maintain clean, organized work area.
  • Inspect finished products to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Set aside products that are below quality standards.
  • Notify Leads, Process Tech and/or Supervisor of any quality issues or reject conditions.
  • Complete assembly of products by installing gaskets in lids; handles onto containers as directed while keeping up with the production machines cycles.
  • Stacking/Packaging product per instructions that may vary with different customers requirements.
  • Prepare proper product identification and/or packaging labels.
  • Assist with material handling and other tasks as needed.
  • Assist with line clearance and changeover functions.
  • Manage product flow through various types of automation.
  • Notify Maintenance and Supervisor of any automation concerns.
  • Conduct 5S of respective area during machine downtime.
  • Perform cleaning duties on cleaning checklist and/or tasks that may be assigned by the production supervisor/process tech lead.
  • Accurately complete any required paperwork.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned by supervisor/process tech lead.
