About The Position

Airgas is hiring for a Production Associate (Cylinder Filler) in Charlestown, NH! This role is responsible for safely handling and filling gas products into liquid, medical and high pressure gas cylinders in compliance with federal, state, local regulations, and meeting the standard operating procedures of Airgas. The Cylinder Filler will review and ensure cylinders prior to filling, following established guidelines to ensure government, Airgas, and distributor standards are met. They will conduct a variety of safety checks per procedures, such as odor tests, checking caps and valves, and analyze products for purity and correct mixtures. This role also involves taking care of high-pressure, medical and liquid cylinders, preparing them for filling, attaching to manifold, and evacuating cylinders to ensure quality and purity. Filling cylinders by pressure and weight per regulations and standards is a key responsibility. Additionally, the role assists with loading and unloading cylinders on and off pallets and tractor trailers, and requires experience using a forklift, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment. Maintaining accurate records to DOT, FDA, OSHA, and Airgas standards, and completing quality control sheets are also essential. The associate will be knowledgeable of hazards of various gases, cylinder sizes and contents by reading labels and color-coding, and supports accurate labeling of cylinders. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school degree or GED required.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • A minimum of 1 year of related technical experience. In lieu of specific industry experience, may accept an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Lives by Airgas safety programs, OSHA, and all related rules, regulations, procedures which are applicable to this position's responsibilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience utilizing SAP or similar ERP system preferred.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Google Suite or Microsoft Office applications.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratios, and percent.

Responsibilities

  • Attaches to manifold, evacuates cylinders to ensure excellent quality and purity.
  • Fills cylinders by pressure and weight, per regulations and standards.
  • Assists with the loading & unloading of cylinders on & off pallets and tractor trailers.
  • Maintains accurate records to DOT, FDA, OSHA, and Airgas standards.
  • Completes quality control sheets as required.
  • Knowledgeable of hazards of various gases; size and contents of cylinders by reading and interpreting cylinder labels and the color-coding of tanks.
  • Supports accurate labeling of cylinders.
