About The Position

The Loader position is responsible for safely and efficiently locating, transporting, and loading building materials into our fleeted trailers. Successful candidates enjoy working in a fast-paced, physically demanding, and repetitive work environment, which includes heavy lifting or working with your hands. This role involves participating in safety walks and stand-up meetings, investigating scan locations in WINTRAK for windows and doors, and safely unloading and loading windows and patio doors onto shipping carts and trailers. The associate will also be responsible for locating and retrieving custom windows and doors, placing labels on units, scanning units to trailer locations, and ensuring the safe movement of carts. Additionally, the role requires investigating and recording stock pallet locations, properly strapping loaded windows and doors according to SOPs, cleaning trailers before loading, adhering to 5S guidelines, and ensuring the dock lock is engaged during loading.

Requirements

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and stand for duration of entire shift.
  • Must cross-train and rotate on various workstations within line/complex.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Able to convert fractions to decimals
  • Ability to read, write in English language and interpret common statistical data, productivity reports, and written instructions
  • Capable of using computerized equipment
  • Ability to move carts in and out of production areas
  • Must be at least 18 years of age to apply.

Nice To Haves

  • 1 - 3 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred

Responsibilities

  • Participate in Safety walks and all stand-up meetings
  • Investigate last known scan locations in WINTRAK of windows and doors throughout the shipping dock
  • Safely unload and load windows and patio doors onto shipping carts
  • Locate and retrieve custom windows and doors, located on holding carts throughout the shipping dock
  • Safely and efficiently floor load custom and stock windows and patio doors onto trailers, by manifested stops
  • Place all screen, panel and frame kit labels on respective units before scanning and loading
  • Scan all stock/ custom windows, PD doors, screens, panels, frames, sash/ glass only units to trailer locations
  • Safe movement of carts in and out of loading dock work area
  • Investigate and record stock pallet locations onto SD pallet forms and submit to forklift operator for retrieval
  • Properly strap all loaded windows and Patio doors with efficient amount of straps & cardboard, and in accordance with SOP’s
  • Clean and sweep trailer before loading any merchandise
  • Adhere to 5S guidelines while at workstation and during operations
  • Ensure dock lock is engaged while loading trailers, and disengaged upon completion of loaded trailer
