About The Position

The Argon/Patching Operator is responsible for the filling and sealing of Insulated Glass (IG) units in the cooling area of the Glass Department. Successful candidates enjoy working in a fast-paced, physically demanding, and repetitive work environment, which includes heavy lifting or working with your hands.

Requirements

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and stand for duration of entire shift.
Must have fine motor skills.
Stacking requires precision placement of spacer on the glass units and alignment of 2nd glass lite onto the spacer
Ability to work in tandem with another operator
Ability to locate minor quality defects in glass, grids and spacers
Must cross-train and rotate on various workstations within line/complex.
Ability to comprehend written work instructions, standard work and quality documents
Ability to move carts of glass in and out of production areas
Must be at least 18 years of age to apply.

Nice To Haves

1 - 3 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred

Responsibilities

Consistently hold cycle time of the position
Fill IG units with argon gas using the gas filling machine
Fill the gas installation hole with a screw using a powered screwdriver
Seal the open corner of the IG unit with butyl
Movement of carts in and out of production work area
Communicate quality issues observed either upstream or downstream of their position
Communicate mechanical issues with the machines to leadership or maintenance staff
