About The Position
We are seeking a Production Assistant to join the CNN FlashDocs team, creating premium longform content for CNN’s linear and digital platforms. The Production Assistant will support the lead producers, associate producers and senior leadership team in all aspects of development, production and post-production.
Requirements
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Passion for topical news and key issues of the moment, especially as related to popular culture.
- Understanding of diverse video formats, from live programming to storytelling
- Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills
- Experience researching and developing stories through development.
- Experience in shooting and producing in the field.
- Effective communicator, capable of working closely with senior producers and producers on their scripts and pitches.
- Ability to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of Iconik, Airtable and Adobe Premiere preferred
- Second language is a plus.
- Active driver's license preferred.
Responsibilities
- Supporting and producing multiple segments.
- Transcribing drafts of compelling interview descriptions, guest bios, and headlines.
- Supporting research packets assigned by producers and the senior leadership team.
- Managing workflows, calendars, and team communications.
- Pitching stories, characters, and experts.
- Developing, producing and editing content to be posted on social media.
