About The Position

As a Production Assistant with Quikrete Heavy Construction Materials, you will be responsible for upholding all safety, environmental, and workplace standards while supporting safe, compliant, and sustainable plant operations. This role involves inspecting and maintaining operating equipment, performing repairs including welding, ensuring a clean and safe working environment, and operating plant mobile equipment. The position requires shift work, overtime, and the ability to work in demanding conditions.

Requirements

A high school diploma or GED.
A minimum of 1–year of industrial, mechanical, or manufacturing experience.
Good organizational and math skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

Experience operating skid steer loaders, front end loader and welding experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Inspect all operating equipment each shift, complete inspection sheet and report problems immediately to shift coordinator.
Correct any and all malfunctions or irregularities of operating equipment and safety hazards or report to coordinator if corrections cannot be made.
Regular communication with PCS is required to identify or anticipate issues, allowing quick mitigation or prevention of plant issues.
Make any and all repairs that are needed within your capabilities, including welding.
Do any cleanup that is necessary to have a better and safer working environment. This requires working in confined areas with temperatures in excess of 110°F.
Utilize all safety equipment, personal or otherwise, required by the company and follow all company guidelines safety standards.
Attend all safety meetings as scheduled.
Perform small refractory patches.
Perform equipment checks and if required trouble shoot equipment issues to ensure equipment is running properly and safely.
Safe and proper operation of plant mobile equipment to include but not limited to front end loaders, skid steer loaders, and fork lifts. This includes inspection of each piece of mobile equipment. Completion of inspection sheet is required.
Taking accurate and reliable silo measurements as required.
Cleaning of the preheater in a safe manner when required. This involves working in temperatures of up to 120°F, wearing heavy insulated clothing and heavy lifting of water blaster.
Perform any and all tasks assigned by the Production Supervisor.
