Production Assistant
About The Position
This DirectHire job is focused on achieving manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees, and initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures. The role drives operational excellence through world-class manufacturing processes, ensuring cost-effective production, monitoring the production process, adjusting schedules as needed, and ensuring production meets the highest quality standards. Responsibilities include inspecting and reviewing equipment maintenance, implementing company policies and goals, ensuring health and safety guidelines are followed, supervising and motivating a team of workers, implementing and driving continuous improvement activities, reviewing worker performance, identifying training needs, and ensuring efficient and accurate reporting. Other duties as assigned are also part of the role. A good attitude, attendance, and performance are required.
Requirements
- 5+ years of related manufacturing experience
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to supervisors and other employees of the organization.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills
- Strong leadership abilities
- Excellent computer skills. Must have Microsoft Office skills including Access, Excel, Word, and Power Point
- Ability to make effective decisions, seek to find solutions to problems, work independently and investigate inquiries and respond in a timely manner
- Attention to detail with ability to act & think analytically to meet job requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Minimum of 3 years Lean Manufacturing experience
- Overtime and/or weekend hours required to meet customer demands
Nice To Haves
- Degree preferred but equivalent relevant experience will be considered
