About The Position

The Production Assistant is responsible for operating and overseeing a designated set of machines, equipment (including mules), and/or processes within the manufacturing facility. This role is for the night shift and involves working in a facility that manufactures chocolate and peanut M&Ms, which is a peanut facility. Training is available for this position.

Requirements

High school diploma, GED or equivalent education
Mechanical aptitude and/or willing to train in manufacturing equipment
Proficient in computer and iPad software, including Microsoft Office and email applications
Frequent lifting/carrying (10-50 lbs) and pushing/pulling (50-300 lbs)
Frequent bending, stooping, twisting, handling, and gripping.
Ability to work at elevated heights, climb stairs, lean over equipment, and operate in confined spaces.
Ability to stand and work on feet for extended periods, with shifts lasting 12 hours
Capable of working in hot, cold and wet conditions
Proficient in understanding, communicating, reading, and writing in English.

Nice To Haves

Technical degree or certification
1+ year hands-on experience in the manufacturing industry
Mechanical or technical training
Forklift or mule operating experience

Responsibilities

Responsible for the performance and safety of machines, processes and personnel, within the plant
Drive mules to transport candy and materials
Start up, shut down, monitor, clean, and perform basic changeovers on equipment
Conduct minor repairs, routine checks, inspections and escalating issues
Operate basic ancillary equipment and utilize relevant computer programs
Perform any ad hoc tasks as required
