This role involves catching, inserting, and packing finished products coming off the presses. The Production Assistant will review the final product, performing a series of quality checks before loading into trays or bins. They will also perform finishing make-ready tasks prior to start-ups, assist with machine make-ready and clean up as needed, and operate the Segbert. Following postal guidelines when packing direct mail orders and completing skid tags is also a key responsibility. Additionally, the role includes inspecting product for quality defects and correcting errors, packing, banding, and/or sorting product into batches, packets, and pallets, counting trays on pallets and comparing with shipping documents, and documenting progress and issues/resolutions for proper reporting. The position also involves training and supporting new and existing team members.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 lbs. - continuously.
  • Ability to exercise basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Ability to read a standard ruler.
  • Ability to visually identify and inspect detailed product for defects.
  • Ability to stand for sustained periods of time.
  • Ability to coordinate hand and foot movements to operate staple machine.

Responsibilities
