AIP ConnectToronto, ON
CA$20 - CA$25Onsite

About The Position

This role is a current, active position and we are accepting applications. Our client is one of North America's leading producers of non-scripted content. They have produced and directed over 70 documentaries and filmed productions—including award-winning features, live television, stage-to-screen productions, and new scripted and unscripted developments—with work recognized across premier international film festivals including TIFF. We are seeking a smart, energetic, and resourceful Production Assistant / Film & TV Intern to join a fast-moving production team. This is an initial 4-month paid contract with potential to transition into a permanent full-time role. In this position, you will work directly alongside experienced filmmakers and producers, gaining hands-on exposure to the end-to-end business of creating film and television. Your focus will span research, development, production logistics, administrative coordination, and pitch support, offering direct insight into how projects move from initial concept to screen.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of experience in film, media, or television production (or equivalent hands-on project experience).
  • High initiative, quick learning agility, and strong organizational skills are equally valued.
  • A genuine drive for film, television, non-scripted storytelling, and entertainment.
  • A proactive problem-solver who takes initiative rather than waiting for step-by-step direction.
  • Sharp attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Professional attitude when dealing with high-profile talent, partners, and confidential development materials.
  • Clear written and verbal communication; comfortable learning new digital workflow tools.
  • Willingness to handle both high-level creative support and the essential, unglamorous day-to-day tasks that keep production moving.
  • Ability to work in-person in Toronto, ON during standard hours (10:00 AM – 5:00 PM), with flexibility for occasional early mornings or late days during active production cycles.

Responsibilities

  • Assist development and production teams across documentary, live TV, stage-to-screen, and new scripted/unscripted projects.
  • Conduct thorough research and assist in moving projects from initial concept through development into production.
  • Coordinate production logistics, workflow organization, and daily operational support.
  • Support senior filmmakers and producers with project organization and changing production needs.
  • Handle both high-level creative tasks and essential day-to-day unglamorous production work.
