Learn more about us here - About Sea-Bird Scientific Sea-Bird Scientific is seeking a highly motivated Production Assembly Technician I to support our Manufacturing & Operations team. In this role, you will use a variety of hand and power tools, fixtures, jigs, test equipment and work instructions to perform a series of operations to correctly assemble and/or test instruments or subassemblies. This position relies primarily on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the job functions. This role reports to the Production Supervisor, Manufacturing & Operations. This is an onsite, day shift role and will be part of our Sea-Bird Scientific Manufacturing & Operations Team in our Bellevue, WA location.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • A minimum of 1 year of related work experience

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong electro-mechanical skills (soldering, proper wire stripping and crimping techniques)
  • Basic knowledge of necessary instruments and tools

Responsibilities

  • Perform pre-assembly quality check on all components
  • Follow detailed assembly instructions in a variety of formats (i.e., drawings, schematics, bills of material, internal procedures or some combination thereof), and report work completed, on a daily basis
  • Perform quality checks on completed assemblies, as needed
  • Understand and meet quality and delivery requirements
  • Recognize and report problems with quality, processes, equipment or materials to Production Lead, Supervisor or Operations Manager
  • Provide hands-on job function training to coworkers as needed
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area to facilitate manufacturing best practices
  • Participate in Kaizen Events
