About The Position

This role is responsible for the quality manufacturing of company products. The Production Assembly Operator will perform various tasks including reading work orders and blueprints, processing parts, operating machinery, assembling components, and utilizing handheld tools. A key aspect of this role is ensuring product quality through checks and documentation of defects, while adhering to safety and quality standards. The operator will also monitor inventory levels and maintain a clean and organized workstation.

Requirements

  • Must be able to read and understand blueprints.
  • Must be able to use tape measures, calipers, and micrometers.
  • Must have the ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Must have adequate hearing and visual acuity.
  • Must have superior understanding of verbal written instruction.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs repetitively.
  • Must handle multiple tasks and perform effectively in a fast paced, high stress work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Read work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, and specifications.
  • Process parts.
  • Perform saw or machine operations.
  • Assemble parts and sub-assemblies.
  • Utilize handheld tools (calipers, indicators, pliers, tinsnips, etc.).
  • Perform basic setup skills (load correct fixture in machine, load correct tooling, understand how to set tool height offsets).
  • Perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards.
  • Identify defects in product and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified.
  • Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures.
  • Know and understand the part numbering system.
  • Monitor inventory levels and report low on-hand material levels to department leaders.
  • Report unusual and/or unsafe conditions to Supervisor or other department leader.
  • Report any issues or conditions that may cause delays to the production schedule.
  • Maintain good communication with Management, Supervisors, Engineering, and all Support Management.
  • Perform material handling.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work station.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by Supervision within capabilities.
  • Do daily maintenance on machines.
  • Work in other areas of fabrication and/or machine shop.
