About The Position

This position assembles, programs, and tests BTS Blinker signs, blinker paddles, RRFB, Beacons, ETO Blinker Signs, and DirecTimes. The position operates within a cell work environment where standardized work, Lean Manufacturing, and 5S principles are practiced. This position reports to the Production Manager.

Requirements

  • Electronics - OMS law, AC/DC, Voltage/Amps, solar controls
  • Mechanical ability
  • Able to read, and interpret electronic and mechanical work instructions, drawings, and schematics
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Communication skills – strong verbal, listening, and written
  • Able to analyze and solve routine problems with a variety of concrete variables in situations where some standardization exists.
  • Computer skills – Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, testing
  • 1 – 2 years prior relevant experience within the industry
  • Prior experience assembling panels, wire harnesses, and/or other electrical control
  • Prior experience working in a team/cell-based environment
  • Able to lift up to 35 lbs
  • Able to stand for 75% of the day

Responsibilities

  • Assembles custom orders according to engineered-to-order standards and documentation
  • Programs and tests finished products
  • Pack products into wooden or cardboard containers or select preassembled containers using protective padding.
  • Participates in cell changeovers from part to part
  • Performs minor maintenance
  • Solves routine problems
  • Learns Lean Manufacturing and 5S principles and practice them on a daily basis
  • Conducts regular 5S audits and quality audits and checks
  • Shares and supports ideas for improvement in group meetings
  • Participates in group and individual improvement activities with team members, engineering, and management
  • Helps implement and support improvement ideas
  • Communicate with the Cell/Team Leader, Planner, and Management as required
  • Performs other duties as assigned
