About The Position

The Production Artist is a full-time position that supports the Creative Team by taking approved creative direction and design concepts and producing accurate, polished, on-brand materials across print, digital, social media, web, events, and other ministry needs. The Production Artist excels at the important work of turning strong ideas into finished, usable, and consistent deliverables. The right person has a sharp eye for detail, strong design fundamentals, and the discipline to follow brand standards closely. They enjoy making things work, resizing, adapting, formatting, preparing files, updating templates, organizing assets, and ensuring every final piece is clear, professional, and ready for its intended audience. Requirements

• Foundational graphic-design skills and visual judgment, including typography, layout, composition, color, visual hierarchy, image selection, and the ability to apply established brand standards consistently.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, especially Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and Acrobat; Canva proficiency is required, and familiarity with digital content, social-media formats, email graphics, website assets, and emerging design tools is preferred.
• Ability to accurately adapt, resize, format, and prepare design files for print, web, social media, email, presentations, signage, and other digital or physical applications; working knowledge of print-production requirements, including file setup, bleed, trim, margins, color modes, resolution, proofing, and export specifications.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, time management, and communication skills, including the ability to identify production issues; maintain organized files, assets, naming conventions, and version control; follow creative direction; solve practical design challenges; and manage multiple assignments and deadlines in a fast-moving environment.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with emerging design tools is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, visual communication, advertising, marketing, or a related field preferred; equivalent training, coursework, internship experience, or a strong portfolio will be considered.
• One to three years of graphic-design, production-design, internship, freelance, agency, in-house, nonprofit, church, or related creative experience preferred.
• A portfolio that demonstrates strong foundational design skills, attention to detail, technical file preparation, and the ability to work within an established brand system.
• Experience using Canva and maintaining templates or brand kits is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Produce and adapt approved designs from the Senior Graphic Designer for print, digital, social media, web, email, weekend services, events, signage, and other ministry needs.
• Prepare polished, accurate, and on-brand final files for a range of formats, platforms, vendors, and distribution channels, ensuring each piece meets required specifications.
• Maintain and develop The Crossing’s Canva brand kits, templates, folders, shared assets, and design standards so staff and approved ministry users can create clear, consistent, on-brand materials.
• Support the Creative Team with revisions, versioning, resizing, formatting, image selection, light photo editing, asset preparation, and other production-design needs.
• Organize and maintain working files, final files, photos, fonts, templates, logos, stock imagery, and other creative assets according to established file-management and version-control standards.
• Perform quality-control reviews before release or printing, checking copy, dimensions, image resolution, color, links, visual consistency, spelling, and file specifications; work directly with print vendors to prepare files, request estimates, review proofs, confirm production requirements, and help ensure final materials are produced accurately and on time.
• Handle digital signage across all four campuses, updating slides from week to week with accuracy.
• Work closely with the Project Manager and Senior Graphic Designer to clarify assignments, communicate progress, manage deadlines, apply brand standards consistently, and complete projects accurately and on time.
