About The Position

The Production Artist is responsible for collateral for 84 Lumber Company and outside customers. The role primarily involves pre-flighting files in Adobe Illustrator by preparing cut paths, adding bleed, reviewing and uploading files, and handling minor design tasks. The Production Artist is expected to gain an understanding of the company’s printers, CNC router, cutters, plotters, and laser. Working closely with sales and production teams, the position creates print-ready artwork while balancing multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

This is a full-time position with hours dependent on store operating hours, at 45 or more hours per week. No travel is expected. The position has no supervisory responsibility.

Requirements

• Previous experience in print-production setup.
• Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suites software.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Maintain industry knowledge and interest in personal growth and development.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Associate’s Degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or 6 months to 1 year of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide print-ready setup from customer-provided files to meet production needs.
• Occasionally provide creative design assistance to help customers achieve desired results.
