About The Position

This role involves leading and developing a team to achieve key metrics and ensure customer satisfaction. The manager will oversee all activities of the assigned team, including safety, quality, fulfillment, cost, and inventory. They will be responsible for measuring critical business aspects related to the team and communicating this information to plant leadership.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree with minimum one year manufacturing experience or minimum five years’ experience in manufacturing.
Understanding of lean principles.
Ability to lead others in alignment with the Vermeer characteristics and behaviors.
Demonstrated understanding of performance metrics including, but not limited to, safety, quality, fulfillment, cost and inventory.
Ability to prioritize assignments to meet deadlines.
Demonstration of strong verbal and written communication skills.
Understanding of equipment and machinery operation.

Responsibilities

Supervise, organize, mentor and coach assigned team members in performance of their duties while influencing others to carry the Vermeer culture forward.
Establish and monitor individual and team goals which are aligned with the organization’s strategies and objectives to drive key business results.
Use expertise to ensure the team is serving its internal and external customers and meeting defined expectations.
Manage all aspects of assigned area including, but not limited to, projects, production, costs, scheduling, shipping, receiving and quality.
Ensure on-time delivery of the product, within budget, and meeting or exceeding customer expectations.
Drive root cause problem solving to address vendor, supplier and customer issues concerning quality and delivery.
Lead the development and implementation of lean principles and continuous improvement projects to improve cost, quality, and safety standards for assigned area.
Ensure safety and accountability of team members in assigned area.
Ensure execution of countermeasures to meet Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Scorecard requirements.
Manage required documentation to meet Vermeer internal and external regulations.
Encourage team member development and engagement.
Create an environment for team members to learn and grow.
