About The Position

The Production and Maintenance Technician operates and maintains high-speed steel packaging manufacturing equipment. Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, the role involves operating, adjusting, troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on production equipment to meet customer specifications. The technician also inspects in-process materials and finished products, maintains required supplies and tools, communicates important information to the next shift, and performs housekeeping duties. The position is based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and is scheduled for night shifts from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., following a rotating pattern of three days on and four days off, then four days on and three days off.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Ability to follow directions and complete assignments in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong mechanical skills and knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Operate, adjust, and repair production equipment to meet customer specifications.
• Disassemble, overhaul, and rebuild production equipment.
• Troubleshoot production equipment as required.
• Perform preventative maintenance on production equipment as required.
• Inspect in-process materials and in-process and finished products.
• Replenish supplies, materials, parts, and tooling required for the assigned area.
• Access, input, and retrieve information from a computer.
• Communicate pertinent information to the next shift.
• Supply and maintain required hand tools.
• Complete clean-up, painting, and housekeeping duties.
• Rotate through all workstations as needed.
