About The Position

As a Product Tester, you'll play a key role in assessing, validating, and processing consumer electronics within our fast-paced Geek Squad City environment. You'll thoroughly test devices to determine functionality, accurately process units through the appropriate workflow, and help prepare products for their next stage, including refurbishment or resale when applicable. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on technology work, troubleshooting, and working in a dynamic operational setting.

Requirements

  • Minimum 6 months of experience in a service centre, repair depot, refurbishment facility, or similar technical environment.
  • Minimum 6 months of experience testing, troubleshooting, or repairing consumer electronics.
  • Knowledge of privacy and data protection requirements, including PIPEDA.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
  • Comfortable performing repetitive tasks with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to consistently lift and move products weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with mobile devices, tablets, gaming products, or other consumer technology is considered an asset.
  • Consumer Electronics, Electronics Technology, Computer Studies, or a related technical program is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Test and evaluate a variety of consumer electronics, including smartphones, tablets, gaming products, wearable technology, and related accessories.
  • Determine whether products are operational, defective, or require further inspection or repair.
  • Process and accurately disposition devices through the appropriate workflow.
  • Perform data wiping and factory resets while ensuring customer information is securely removed.
  • Prepare devices for refurbishment, resale, recycling, or repair as required.
  • Support additional technical service activities and special projects as assigned.
  • Assist with device testing, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair processes.
  • Conduct functional testing on returned, refurbished, and pre-owned electronics.
  • Verify product quality and ensure units meet operational standards.
  • Maintain compliance with privacy and data security requirements, including PIPEDA.
  • Accurately document testing outcomes and system updates.
  • Safely perform material handling duties involving products and equipment up to 50 lbs.
  • Maintain organized work areas and adhere to established operational procedures.
  • Utilize internal systems and tools to track workflows, testing results, and inventory movement.
