About The Position

Micron Technology is seeking an intern to support its Test Solutions Engineering department. The role focuses on developing, debugging, and maintaining test programs that assess the health and quality of DRAM memory cells, supporting products from new product introduction through high-volume manufacturing. The engineer will build understanding of test equipment hardware, device behavior, and software systems, and will use C++ or Python to develop test programs and support scripts. AI and Generative AI tools may be used where appropriate to improve technical problem solving, software development, data analysis, debugging, and engineering productivity. The role also contributes to next-generation design-for-test capabilities and collaborates across engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to deliver suitable test solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated understanding of basic resistance, inductance, and capacitance circuit concepts, digital systems, logic gates, and CMOS transistor operation.
  • Intermediate or advanced programming capability in C++ or Python.
  • Working knowledge of Unix/Linux environments, basic statistics, and data analytics.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information effectively and collaborate with others.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience applying electrical circuit and CMOS fundamentals to hardware testing, characterization, or troubleshooting.
  • Experience developing, debugging, or maintaining engineering or test software using C++ or Python.
  • Experience analyzing engineering or test data using statistical methods to identify patterns, trends, or anomalies.
  • Experience working with software-development and data-analysis workflows in a Unix/Linux environment.
  • Proficiency using AI or Generative AI tools to support technical problem solving, software development, data analysis, or engineering productivity.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a good understanding of test equipment hardware, device knowledge, and software systems.
  • Develop, debug, and support test programs from new product introduction through high-volume manufacturing.
  • Write test programs and support scripts in C++ or Python.
  • Use AI and Generative AI tools to improve software development, test-program debugging, data analysis, technical problem solving, and engineering productivity.
  • Contribute input and feedback to define next-generation design-for-test capabilities.
  • Analyze device and test-flow data, including using AI-enabled methods where appropriate, to make informed test-coverage decisions.
  • Balance test-time objectives while maintaining optimal yield and quality.
  • Collaborate with Product Engineering, Fab, Manufacturing, Yield Enhancement, Global Quality, Systems Integration Group, and Equipment Engineering teams to deliver the right test solution.

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, and vision plan options.
  • Programs to protect income in the event of illness or injury.
