About The Position

The Product Sustainability & Compliance Assistant helps turn Hunkemöller’s sustainability goals into practical action across products and packaging. The role works closely with CSR, Buying, Technical, Design, and suppliers to strengthen sustainability and compliance processes, improve data quality and traceability, and prepare the business for evolving legislation. It also supports preferred and lower-impact materials, ecodesign strategies, chemical product testing, internal sustainability communications, and related product and packaging projects.

Requirements

• HBO, Bachelor’s, or Master’s level qualification in fashion business management, environmental studies, or a related field.
• Passion for sustainability and fashion, a good understanding of materials, and willingness to build knowledge of product legislation.
• Well organized, able to prioritize workload, and attentive to detail when working with certification processes and data.
• Analytical and solution-oriented, with the ability to interpret complex requirements and translate them into practical actions.
• Ability to help develop and implement clear processes, guidance, and ways of working.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to communicate clearly with colleagues, suppliers, and stakeholders at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with internal teams and external suppliers to align sustainability requirements, goals, and KPIs.
• Coordinate product and packaging data requirements and ensure data quality, completeness, traceability, and reporting readiness.
• Contribute to the supply chain traceability project in preparation for the Digital Product Passport.
• Help drive adoption of preferred and lower-impact materials and explore ecodesign strategies that reduce impacts across the product lifecycle.
• Monitor emerging sustainability and product legislation and translate requirements into clear business actions.
• Contribute to internal sustainability communications and practical guidance for internal and external stakeholders.
• Monitor chemical product testing to ensure end products meet Hunkemöller’s chemical safety standards.
• Support other sustainability-related product and packaging projects.
