About The Position

Provide comprehensive knowledge and support for CSC proprietary products including, but not limited to, sales support, preparation of estimates, coordination of engineering and detailing resources, and project management, in a manner that is consistent with our corporate mission, values and department objectives. Candidates may be offered a Job Title I or II role, depending on experience and qualifications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business preferred; in lieu of a degree, minimum of 2 years of sales and estimating or project management and detailing experience and a high school diploma or equivalent will be considered. Experience must include direct customer communication.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret drawings, specifications, and technical procedures.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to multi-task and organize workflow.
  • Excellent math and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • PC skills to include the following software: Microsoft Suite of Products, Bluebeam, CSC Design and Pricing programs.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous steel experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of engineering and design concepts in the structural steel industry with joist & deck industry knowledge preferred.
  • AutoCAD skills a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to sales team efforts to get CSC proprietary products specified by Designers of Record.
  • Assist in identifying opportunities for CSC proprietary products to be specified as a solution or alternate.
  • Prepare estimates using CSC products including takeoff of quantities and assistance with pricing build up.
  • Visit Designers of Record offices on occasion with sales team to assist with specifying CSC products.
  • Provide budgetary designs and pricing for CSC products based on conceptual information.
  • Prepare value engineering opportunities to offer savings for both the customer and CSC.
  • Help lead the project management efforts for orders that are booked including direct correspondence with the customer, coordination with CSC production facilities, change orders, and date management.
  • Coordinate with designated engineering and detailing resources for both pre-construction and post-sale drafting and engineering activities.
  • Provide post-sale support for any questions related to designated CSC products.
  • Maintain job files in appropriate computerized file directory for access by other departments.
  • Utilize proprietary design software, CSC ERP system as well as various bid subscription services and takeoff methods to conduct daily business.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating effectively with customers, coworkers, and supervisors.
  • Work closely with internal teams including project managers, estimators, and engineers to ensure the successful execution of contracts.
  • Performs other job duties as assigned by supervisor.
