About The Position

Anduril’s Maritime Division is developing advanced maritime systems and scaling production through its Proto-Factory in Orange County, California, and the Arsenal-2 shipyard in Baltimore County, Maryland. The Product Support Engineer is an individual contributor on the Maritime team responsible for sustainment strategies and lifecycle management for maritime autonomous vehicles. The position owns product support analysis and sustainment cost, translating reliability and maintenance data into fleet provisioning, staffing, and cost plans. It reports to the Support System Lead. The role develops and maintains lifecycle cost estimates and operating and support (O&S) cost models, performs supportability and cost analysis, and helps shape design decisions so systems are supportable throughout their service lives. It works with customers, operations, reliability, maintenance, design, manufacturing, and other engineering teams to define maintenance and repair strategies, support architecture, provisioning, and sustainment artifacts. The role also supplies support terms for operational availability and produces cost and supportability analyses for customer deliverables and program reviews.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Logistics, Economics, Finance, or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years of experience in product support, sustainment engineering, or systems engineering in a high-rigor environment such as defense, aerospace, advanced robotics, or complex industrial systems.
  • Detailed technical expertise applying mechanical or systems engineering principles to complex hardware systems.
  • Experience building or maintaining a lifecycle cost or O&S cost model and presenting its results to a program or customer audience.
  • Direct experience with sustainment methodologies such as Maintenance Task Analysis (MTA), Level of Repair Analysis (LORA), Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), or Contractor Logistics Support (CLS) planning.
  • Foundational understanding and practical application of Integrated Product Support (IPS) elements and concepts, including maintenance planning, supply support, technical data management, support equipment, training, and facilities.
  • Familiarity with military standards, specifications, and regulatory compliance relevant to product support and sustainment.
  • Ability to work effectively in dynamic, unstructured environments, adapt to changing priorities, and learn new technologies and complex systems quickly.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to synthesize technical and quantitative data into concise decision statements and actionable recommendations for engineers, operators, and customers.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on proficiency with professional CAD software and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools for engineering data, changes, and configuration management.
  • Track record developing and delivering customer-facing sustainment artifacts and contractual deliverables.
  • Hands-on experience with Siemens NX, Teamcenter (PLM), JIRA, Oracle (ERP), or equivalent enterprise systems.
  • Experience with complex military systems, robotics, unmanned systems, or advanced defense technology products.
  • Understanding of Technical Data Packages, including drawings, parts lists, interface control documents, and electrical schematics.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
  • Willingness and ability to travel for on-site support, field deployments, and direct customer engagements as required.
  • Experience with DoD product support analysis or Integrated Product Support elements.
  • Familiarity with LORA, provisioning analysis, and sparing optimization.
  • Background in naval or maritime sustainment cost.
  • Experience with performance-based logistics or sustainment contracting models.
  • Proficiency with cost modeling tools or scripting for analysis automation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain ground-up sustainment plans for assigned products.
  • Partner with customers, operations teams, and cross-functional engineering teams to define, implement, and improve maintenance and repair strategies.
  • Ensure maintenance procedures, specialized tools, and technical manuals are current and available for field sustainment operations.
  • Serve as the primary sustainment point of contact within the product team and proactively identify and resolve sustainment issues.
  • Collaborate with design and manufacturing engineering teams during new product development to incorporate sustainment practices and design-for-supportability concepts.
  • Create and maintain a Service Bill of Materials (SBOM), provisioning lists, support equipment lists, and other sustainment artifacts in a central, current repository.
  • Supply support terms for the operational availability basis, including logistics delay and preventive maintenance time, in coordination with the reliability lead.
  • Build and maintain lifecycle cost estimates and operating and support cost models, including sensitivity analysis and affordability reporting, and publish estimates at program gates.
  • Own the lifecycle cost model for the vehicle fleet and its support system.
  • Perform product support analysis covering provisioning, manning, facilities, and support equipment.
  • Produce and update O&S cost estimates as the design matures.
  • Conduct sustainment cost trade studies and inform design decisions with the results.
  • Develop spares and provisioning plans in partnership with RAM and Maintenance.
  • Define the product support strategy and supporting elements of the logistics architecture.
  • Produce cost and supportability analyses for customer deliverables and program reviews.
  • Establish the data pipeline that converts reliability and maintenance data into cost projections.

Benefits

  • Highly competitive equity grants are included in the majority of full-time offers and are part of total compensation.
  • Top-tier benefits for full-time employees, described as comprehensive and competitive and available at little to no cost to employees.
