About The Position

A leading manufacturer of high-performance precision cutting tools is seeking a Manager, Product Strategy to lead the long-term direction of a key product portfolio. This individual will play a central role in shaping product strategy, identifying market opportunities, and translating customer needs into innovative product solutions. Working cross-functionally with engineering, sales, operations, marketing, and executive leadership, this person will influence the product roadmap from concept through commercialization while helping drive sustainable growth in both existing and emerging markets. This position is fully remote within the United States, with preference given to candidates located in the Northeast or Midwest USA.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Five or more years of experience in Product Management, Product Strategy, Product Marketing, or a related commercial or technical leadership role.
  • Experience developing product strategies using customer insights, market research, and competitive analysis.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to evaluate market opportunities and develop financial justification for new products.
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional initiatives in a collaborative environment.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across multiple departments.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Comfortable working with technical products and collaborating with engineering, sales, and customers.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience within precision machining, industrial manufacturing, metalworking, or cutting tool industries.
  • Familiarity with drilling, milling, threading, or other metal removal products.
  • Background supporting application engineering, technical sales, or industrial distribution channels.
  • Experience introducing new products into domestic and international markets.
  • MBA or other advanced degree is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the long-term product strategy and roadmap for an assigned product portfolio.
  • Evaluate market trends, competitive offerings, customer feedback, and industry developments to identify growth opportunities.
  • Partner with commercial teams and customers to understand application challenges and define future product requirements.
  • Build business cases that support new product investments and portfolio expansion initiatives.
  • Serve as the commercial voice throughout the product development process, collaborating closely with engineering, operations, project management, and marketing.
  • Prioritize development projects based on market demand, strategic value, and financial return.
  • Manage the product lifecycle from introduction through rationalization and retirement.
  • Analyze portfolio performance, pricing, market share, and customer adoption to refine future strategy.
  • Support product launches by working closely with sales and marketing teams to develop positioning, messaging, and commercialization plans.
  • Present recommendations and strategic updates to senior leadership.
