The Product Specialist role is responsible for implementing product management by integrating diverse functions to maximize product profitability while meeting customer needs. This involves researching, analyzing, planning, and facilitating multiple processes critical to operations and profitability, including sales price, inventory, volume sold, short and long-term demand, effective utilization of production capacity, and product/account mix.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university, one to two years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1-3 years’ experience in Petro-Chemical Industrial or related field.
  • Occasional (~5%) travel required.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conforms to prescribed style and format.
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • Must be able to work in a rapid-paced changing environment.
  • Demonstrate exceptional teamwork and customer service; behave professionally; treat others with respect and dignity.
  • Physical requirements include duties common to a regular office environment.
  • Must have regular, reliable attendance as well as the ability to work outside the regular schedule as required.

Responsibilities

  • Implement the Sale of Products to diverse Sales Channels and Customers by balancing multiple factors to achieve maximum profitability, considering sales price, customer volume constraints, sales agreement/contract requirements, current and forecasted inventory and production, and projected demand and costs.
  • Facilitate the Fulfillment of Product Delivery and Commitment by determining and deciding on monthly production schedules that significantly affect operations to fulfill contract and customer needs.
  • Act as a problem solver to eliminate blockages and enhance the consistent delivery of quality products that exceed customer expectations.
  • Solve and/or recommend resolution to discrepancies/abnormalities, customer complaints, and/or quality issues to the department and management.
  • Achieve Sales Targets by coordinating with multiple internal departments and cross-functional teams to propose and implement strategies/plans to meet targets/goals.
  • Act as a Critical Liaison to multiple internal departments, cross-functional representatives, and key external contacts/decision makers.
  • Research, Track and Analyze Product Management Information, including pricing, inventory, order verification, account profitability, fleet utilization, contact performance, sample performance, and potential customer information, to provide consultation and/or expert advice to Management, Sales, Customer Service, and others.
  • Make Product Management Recommendations in the areas of market trends, sales forecast, sales targets, production targets, and inventory allowance to management.
