About The Position

Lightera is looking to hire a Product Specialist - Level II. This is a second shift position, Monday - Friday, 3:00 PM - 11:15 PM. The role involves performing a wide variety of assembly and bench-related work assignments, including the set-up and operation of complex machinery such as lathes, draw towers, proof-testers, and quality control/quality assurance measurement systems. Operating these machines requires limited interrelated adjustments with detailed procedures in manufacturing layouts, engineering specifications, similar operating procedures, or work instructions. This includes inspection, basic care, and cleaning of equipment and the work area to ensure process efficiency and product quality. The position also involves testing and inspecting in-process and completed products, and performing material handling duties requiring the operation of all types of material handling equipment. Receiving, storing, staging, and shipping all types of materials and products are also key functions. Certification may be required to verify initial proficiency.

Requirements

  • Ability to perform assembly and bench-related work assignments.
  • Ability to set-up and operate complex machinery (lathes, draw towers, proof-testers, quality control/assurance measurement systems).
  • Ability to follow detailed procedures in manufacturing layouts, engineering specifications, operating procedures, or work instructions.
  • Ability to perform inspection, basic care, and cleaning of equipment and work area.
  • Ability to test and inspect in-process and completed products.
  • Ability to perform material handling duties and operate material handling equipment.
  • Ability to receive, store, stage, and ship materials and products.
  • Ability to observe safety procedures and use appropriate PPE.
  • Certification may be required to verify initial proficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Work with maintenance engineers or other support personnel to identify and resolve equipment, process, or product issues.
  • Maintain work area organization/orderliness and cleanliness.
  • Perform inspection, basic care, and cleaning of equipment.
  • Perform limited equipment inspections and adjustments requiring only simple instructions.
  • Observe all safety procedures, including the use of appropriate safety devices and personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Receive, store, stage, and ship all types of materials and products.
  • Test and inspect in-process and completed products.
  • Perform material handling duties requiring the operation of all types of material handling equipment.
