About The Position

Shimadzu Scientific Instruments is seeking a motivated Product Specialist to join our team! In this role, you will create technical marketing materials and documents for sales, provide training, and offer installation and maintenance support for our GCMS operations. Your focus will be on enhancing product positioning while delivering high-quality, timely support to our customers. You’ll engage directly with clients, addressing their needs and collaborating with the Marketing team, Sales, Service, and Regional staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a life science field; a higher-level degree is strongly preferred
  • Minimum of two years of experience in technical applications or method development with GCMS
  • Experience in maintenance and repair of analytical instrumentation
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • A dependable work ethic
  • Willingness to travel, including occasional overnight stays

Nice To Haves

  • Marketing and sales experience are highly desirable

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a technical resource for assigned products and technologies, developing and maintaining expertise in instrumentation, software, applications, and their use across relevant markets
  • Provide technical and marketing support to the sales team by developing demonstration strategies, presenting products to prospective and current customers, and translating technical knowledge and customer needs into effective sales support tools
  • Create and maintain sales support resources, including presentations, product materials, feature/benefit analyses, competitive information, positioning strategies, and application-focused documentation for assigned products
  • Gather and analyze competitive and market information to identify customer needs, competitive solutions, and opportunities for hardware, software, and application development
  • Support the introduction and positioning of new technologies by evaluating market requirements and recommending appropriate hardware, software, and application solutions
  • Develop and deliver technical training for customers and Shimadzu employees through presentations, demonstrations, and hands-on application activities
  • Share technical and market knowledge through customer demonstrations, internal and external training, and hands-on activities in the application laboratory
