About The Position

Boeing is seeking a Senior Product Security Engineer (PSE) with the ability to analyze complex aerospace engineering solutions and/or technical background for both space and ground systems security architectures. This position is a part of the Multi-User Objective System (MUOS) program and is in El Segundo, California. The Product Security Engineer is responsible for applying an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop, validate and verify lifecycle balanced information system security solutions. This role involves co-leading a team of Product Security Engineers to implement cybersecurity features on satellite vehicles and RMF processes for embedded computing systems. The engineer will evaluate resilient network operations for satellite systems, implement effective crypto keying techniques, and perform various analyses to optimize total system of systems and system architecture. Responsibilities include identifying assets and assessing risks, threats, and vulnerabilities in accordance with industry standards to ensure security design integrity, availability, confidentiality, non-repudiation, and contract compliance. The role also oversees the development, implementation, and sustainment of product security and resiliency throughout the entire product lifecycle, from requirements to support. This includes enhancing system requirements and architectures for product security to meet certification and customer needs, and ensuring the security of all facilities, equipment, tools, data, networks, and resources involved in product development and operations. The engineer will also oversee the definition of product security requirements for suppliers, consult with enterprise senior leadership on complex product security recommendations and risks, and coordinate with governments, customers, suppliers, and industry to improve security standards. Additionally, the role involves defining R&D activities for innovative solutions and advising customers on maintaining product security and certification, including the security consequences of product modifications. Implementation of Accreditation and Authorization activities per JSIG, DoD and NISPOM is also a key responsibility, along with coordinating security-related activities with various engineering and program management teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 10+ years’ experience in Systems Engineering
  • 4+ years of experience with spacecraft, payloads, ground systems, and/or space mission systems
  • 5+ years’ experience performing software integration with hardware, firmware, and other software, including coordination with interfacing technical teams
  • 10+ years’ working with technical implementation in classified and unclassified environments, preferably in large-scale digital or business transformations, system integrations, infrastructure & operations, cybersecurity, networking, etc
  • Active Secret (U.S. Citizenship Required) security clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the development, implementation, and sustainment of product security and resiliency throughout the requirements, design, build, test, production, operations, and support lifecycle.
  • Overseeing the development and enhancement of system requirements and architectures for product security to meet all applicable certification and customer requirements.
  • Ensuring security of facilities, equipment, tools, data, networks, and resources used for product: design, development, build, test, storage, delivery, operations, and support.
  • Overseeing the definition and identification of product security requirements for suppliers of components and subsystems for integration into the most complex Boeing products and services.
  • Consulting with enterprise senior leadership on complex product security technical recommendations, solutions, risks, and opportunities as applied to the security domain with consideration of impact or leverage across other critical engineering disciplines.
  • Overseeing coordination with governments, customers, suppliers, and industry at the most senior levels to identify risks and improve industry and regulatory security standards and requirements for programs and interfacing systems.
  • Defining complex research and development activities resulting in innovative solutions.
  • Overseeing the advisement of customers on maintaining product security and certification, including security consequences of modifying products and services.
  • Implementing appropriate Accreditation and Authorization activities per JSIG, DoD and NISPOM, or DoD Overprint to the NISPOM as required by customers.
  • Coordinating with system administrators, network and software engineers, test and validation engineers and program management on security related activities and requirements.
