About The Position

As a Product Sales Engineer at MKS Inc., you will meet customer needs while promoting the company’s brand, product offerings, and capabilities. In this role, you will enhance customer experience by partnering with cross‑functional product teams to design and manufacture solutions for commercial sales opportunities, helping to gain market share and increase profitability. In this role, you will report to the Director of Product Sales Engineer.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Photonics-related field (Physics, Engineering, Applied Science).
  • 5+ years of demonstrated success in a customer-facing role.
  • Strong critical-thinking, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail, time-management skills, and communication abilities.
  • Effective negotiating skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Photonics Industry desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting Product Line Managers, Core Account Managers, and Territory Sales Managers by participating in prospecting and account-penetration activities to grow the business.
  • Collaborating with customers to understand their requirements through consultative selling and delivering value-based solutions.
  • Working with Territory Sales Manager and Core Account Managers to manage and maintain the orders pipeline and opportunities in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
  • Traveling to customer sites to support Core Account Managers and Territory Sales Managers in winning new business, supporting newly won programs, and sustaining existing business.
  • Identifying, collecting, and sharing sales best practices, customer requirements, and customer feedback to drive continuous improvement.
  • Solving day‑to‑day customer and application issues by interfacing with functional areas across multiple levels of the company.
  • Building strong relationships with customers at multiple levels and with internal functional groups.
  • Ability to take and follow directions and instructions.
  • Ability to interact with other employees, customers, suppliers, vendors, or the public, in a safe, professional, and respectful manner.
  • Access to sensitive and confidential business systems and software, personally identifying information, the company’s financial information, and/or the ability to maintain physical security and safety.
  • Trustworthiness, reliability, and good judgment.
