About The Position

The Boeing Company's Technology Innovation (BTI) team is seeking Product Repair and Modification Technicians to support production and test assembly lines for Boeing Commercial Airplanes and Boeing Defense Space and Security in Smithfield, Pennsylvania. BTI focuses on creating and implementing innovative technologies for the future of aerospace. This role is critical in upholding safety and quality standards, ensuring regulatory compliance and operational excellence. The team is hiring for Associate and Mid-Level Technicians.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience with assembling, disassembling, or repairing components associated with aircraft.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working as an aircraft or aircraft component functional test operator (which includes ESS testing).
  • Must be willing and able to work variable shifts (1st and/or 2nd based on business needs).
  • Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements; a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required (U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee).

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with assembling, disassembling, or repairing components associated with aircraft.
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant License (higher starting salary).

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, disassemble, and troubleshoot numerous assemblies by changing, removing, and replacing aerospace components, using general aerospace maintenance practices and aerospace product specifications to correct failures.
  • Remove and replace components for repair, replacement, or testing to support product serviceability.
  • Resolve and correct routine problems during operation, maintenance, and overhaul of deliverable products.
  • Measure and adjust independently, using documented processes, to satisfy specifications and ensure correct tolerances are obtained.
  • Perform validation/verification testing of systems and components to ensure serviceability.
  • Call out repairs, and consult engineering and/or customer with results, as directed by non-conformance process.
  • Document repairs, test results, applicable modifications, and inspection results, using specific, detailed instructions and established processes and procedures, to ensure contractual and regulatory compliance.
  • Verify and ensure correctness of documented instructions and procedures to modify, troubleshoot, repair, and test assemblies.
  • Properly identify discrepancies found with parts and assist with reconciliation of discrepancies.
  • Visually inspect components before installation or usage to verify cleanliness and serviceability of components.
  • Identify and document discrepancies found during inspection and troubleshooting.
  • Fabricate and modify aerospace products according to established processes.
  • Perform repairs or modifications to satisfy deliverable products.
  • Understand and interpret required engineering drawings, instructions, and technical specifications to advise technicians.
  • Ensure adequacy, accuracy, and thoroughness of product modification.
