About The Position

The Product Release Specialist authorizes the release of parts for shipment by verifying that all specified processes and data required in the control plan(s) and production work orders, testing and customer documentation are complete.

Requirements

  • High school education coursework or GED required.
  • Knowledge of Windows based programs such as Outlook and Word.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and utilize instructions and short correspondence with coworkers and supervisors.
  • Ability to effectively present information to other employees, in one-on-one and small group situations.
  • Ability to write correspondence as needed.
  • Communicates effectively with team members in order to assure any rework needs are completed on time to meet customer shipment requirements.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to read and understand specification drawings for inspection purposes.
  • Ability to understand written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to analyze problems that deal with a number of variables.
  • Ability to analyze reports and read data to make recommendation.
  • Ability to problem solve to fine root-cause.
  • Must be a self starter and have the ability to apply previously learned information to similar situations.
  • Willingness to attend classes or training to enhance and update knowledge and skills.
  • Leadership skills necessary to successful complete tasks through others to meet customer and business requirements.
  • Normal or corrected to normal vision is required with good color vision, close vision, and ability to use microscope and adjust focus.

Nice To Haves

  • Post high school education or experience in manufacturing preferred.
  • Experience with and ERP system or manufacturing software such as IQMS preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Verification of Work Order and Control Plan requirements are complete. For example: inspection records, measurements and/or data (QuickInspect, Outgoing, etc.) are complete and meet control plan requirements (count, capability, etc.).
  • Completes and files necessary release documentation per control plan and work instructions.
  • Coordinates parts movement in IQMS software system to a shippable location following release for shipment.
  • Analyze and correct any discrepancies with part release. Work with others to determine root cause for discrepancies and corrections to eliminate future problems.
  • Work with Production and Quality to improve data collection.
  • Daily review parts with special handling requirements per inventory and shipment schedules and work to complete product release requirements for finished goods and shipping.
  • Expedites part release to assure on time shipment.
  • Responsible for the creation and closure of MRB records daily.
  • Responsible for moving or scrapping MRB parts per MRB record.
  • Other duties as required.
