About The Position

The Product R&D Engineer researches product opportunities, develops and tests commercial walk-in refrigeration and cooking equipment, and improves existing products. The role works with product managers and cross-functional teams, including teams overseas, to define requirements, design products, support manufacturing optimization, and ensure products meet customer needs, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. The engineer also uses field service data to identify product weaknesses and opportunities for feature enhancements, and communicates project status and data to upper-level management.

The role may require up to one month of domestic travel per year to attend restaurant equipment shows.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Industrial Design or a related field.
• 12 months of work experience as a Product Engineer, UI/UX Designer, or in a related position.
• Strong knowledge of product design and development processes.
• Proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks.
• Proficiency in 3D animation and product rendering software such as KeyShot.
• Availability for up to one month of domestic travel per year to attend restaurant equipment shows.

Responsibilities

• Research new product opportunities, analyze market trends, and consider customer feedback.
• Work with product managers to define product requirements and specifications.
• Design and develop products, including UI/UX and industrial design, ensuring technical feasibility, customer suitability, and cost-effective production.
• Develop and execute testing plans to ensure products meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with overseas cross-functional teams and assist in optimizing manufacturing processes.
• Thoroughly test preliminary and final designs for commercial walk-in refrigeration and cooking equipment products.
• Work with the service department to interpret field service data and turn potential weaknesses into feature-enhancing product development efforts.
• Continuously improve existing products through research, testing, and analysis.
• Keep up to date with industry trends and technological advancements.
• Document and communicate project status and collected data to upper-level management.
