Product Quality Engineer

AppleCupertino, CA
$170,618 - $193,800Onsite

About The Position

Ensure product quality during the pre-launch development cycle by generating and implementing the Product Quality Plan (PQP) for products. Drive quality improvement actions on future products utilizing lessons learned, early field failure analysis (EFFA) findings, field, and factory data analysis. Develop and drive test correlation, metrology systems, sampling methods, and cosmetics requirements using correlation studies, acceptable quality limit (AQL), and measurement system analysis. Lead process failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA) on new technologies and manufacturing processes. Lead technical failure analysis to support root cause analysis and issue resolution. Bring up capable suppliers which can execute at a high level on an ongoing basis. Establish quality monitoring mechanisms, including SPC, CPK, control plan, and sampling, which generate meaningful metrics providing an indication of incoming (IQC) and outgoing quality (OQC) at all nodes in the supply chain. Enable mass production capable manufacturing processes through objective measurement and analysis of production line yields, quality audits, and reliability testing. Develop plans to validate new product quality at each development landmark. Develop capable suppliers that can be both technology and scaling partners by working closely with Asia-based Engineers to ensure that PQP deliverables are understood and properly implemented. International Travel Required 25%. 40 hours/week.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering & Management, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field.

  • 5 years of experience with Using assembly process and testing methodologies to ensure product quality during new product introduction (NPI) development.
  • 5 years of experience with Using quality control and management tools such as CPK, SPC, control plan, PQP, and AQL to evaluate and control product and process performance throughout the manufacturing supply chain.
  • 5 years of experience with Performing FMEA for new design, new process risk assessment and defining test plans to de-risk.
  • 5 years of experience with Utilizing machine learning and AI concepts for quality image processing, data mining and reporting.
  • 5 years of experience with Creating quality sampling plan by looking at different sampling methods, AQL, cost, supply node data, and assessing user impact.
