About The Position

The Product Quality Engineer will work with the new product development team to coordinate new product sample quality design and plan. This role involves developing appropriate part quality inspection plans, controlling the new product sample receiving and inspection process, and concluding OEM product sample inspection efforts. The engineer will collect inspection data, perform result analysis, analyze root causes for defects, and update production quality control plans. Additionally, this position will monitor the implementation of improvement methods, verify their effectiveness, and handle customer complaints and concerns during the new product development phase and for OEM products. The role also includes guiding and assisting the production management group in identifying and controlling potential failure risks of OEM products.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, understand and comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to speak effectively and interact with other team members, engineers, leadership and customers.
  • Experienced in quality engineer area
  • Bachelor degree or above (The mechanical and electrical major is preferred)
  • The employee is regularly required to stand for long periods.
  • Duties include turning at the waist, reaching, bending, squatting and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to pass static strength requirements (grip)
  • Visual acuity including, but not limited to: NEAR ACUITY, FAR ACUITY, DEPTH PERCEPTION, COLOR VISION, FIELD OF VISION.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables.
  • Knowledge of and familiarity manufacturing software.
  • Familiar with manufacturing principle and technological process of automotive glass.
  • Familiar with the company's quality policy, objectives and commitments.
  • Have a good knowledge of IATF16949 quality management system.
  • Familiar with various standards and inspection/test methods for automotive glass.
  • Familiar with core knowledge of Five Tools.
  • Developing the Product Verification testing plan.
  • Risk assessment and management of PV testing plan.
  • Able to solve problems systematically.
  • Relatively better planning, organization, Leadership and control ability
  • Relatively strong sense of responsibility and sensitivity; be able to actively deal with problems.
  • Able to work under pressure.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office software Word, Excel, Power Point.
  • Solving problems with 8D method.
  • Relatively better communication ability.
  • SPC
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

Nice To Haves

  • Mechanical and electrical major is preferred
  • Customer standard, 8D or 5P1 training required

Responsibilities

  • Work with new product development team to coordinate new product sample quality design and plan.
  • Develop appropriate part quality inspection plans.
  • Control the new product sample receiving and inspection process.
  • Conclude the OEM product sample inspection efforts, collect inspection data and perform result analysis.
  • Analyze root causes for defects and update production quality control plan with Advanced Quality Engineer, and process engineer.
  • Monitor implementation process of improvement methods and perform effectiveness verification.
  • Handling the customer complaints and concerns with Advanced Quality Engineer during the new product development phase.
  • Handling the customer complaints and concerns with Customer Quality Engineer on OEM product.
  • Guide and assistant the production management group to focus on identifying and cotrolling potential fail risk of OEM product.
