Product Owner

Kicksite•Overland Park, KS

About The Position

Kicksite is seeking an experienced and collaborative Product Owner to join their team. This role focuses on translating ideas into clear, detailed, and buildable requirements. The ideal candidate will excel at identifying unanswered questions, proposing solutions, and guiding work through the development lifecycle. This position is well-suited for individuals with a Business Analyst to Product Owner background who thrive on bringing clarity to complex systems and establishing structure in ambiguous environments. The company utilizes a hybrid approach to Shape Up and Agile practices, allowing for meaningful input on process evolution. This is a definition and delivery-focused role, not solely process administration. The Product Owner will critically assess product development, uncover missing requirements, and bridge the gap between problem identification and development execution. Reporting to the Head of Product, this role will translate product strategy into detailed specifications, business rules, edge cases, and development-ready tasks. The Product Owner will collaborate with a small, dedicated product team (under a dozen people across engineering, design, QA, and user research) supporting multiple product areas concurrently. As Kicksite builds a single product for all customers, the focus is on product definition rather than client-specific customization. Previous experience as a Senior Business Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, Product Owner, or Product Analyst is highly relevant. Experience in SaaS, startups, small businesses, or growing technology companies is considered a plus.

  • Strong understanding of user flows and interaction logic.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfort working directly with engineers, designers, QA, leadership, and customer-facing teams.
  • Strong judgment, organization, and ability to work independently in an evolving environment.
  • Located in the Kansas City metro area.
