Product Owner

MountainSeed Appraisal Management LLCAtlanta, GA
$100,000 - $118,000Hybrid

About The Position

The Product Owner (PO) collaborates with clients, vendors, internal operations, and technical teams to ensure that the product vision and strategic goals are achieved. The PO is responsible for understanding business needs, documenting and prioritizing requirements, and translating business objectives into scalable technology solutions. This role serves as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and the technology team, ensuring requirements are clearly understood, prioritized based on business value and technical feasibility, and delivered within agreed timelines. The Product Owner will ensure delivered solutions align with operational objectives, client expectations, and product strategy. PO will regularly interact with executives, clients, and stakeholders across the Appraisal Management and Analytics business lines. This role partners closely with Sales, Customer Success, Operations, and Engineering to incorporate user feedback into the product roadmap and continuously improve the platform. The ideal candidate will have experience within commercial real estate and a strong understanding of business process automation and workflow optimization. Experience supporting or developing AI-enabled products and solutions is highly preferred. This is not a story-writing role — it is a technical requirements role that uses modern tools including AI to move at sprint speed without sacrificing engineering clarity. This role builds it and owns it — from the first state diagram through production feedback.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience defining functionality requirements, building, and implementing business solutions using information technology.
  • 2+ years of experience in real estate or equivalent industry experience focused on business process efficiency, automation, and Agile Scrum software development.
  • Experience serving as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, Technical Analyst or similar product-focused role within an Agile environment.
  • Experience supporting or contributing to AI-enabled products, workflow automation tools, or intelligent process solutions preferred.
  • Experience translating business requirements into technical documentation and development-ready user stories.
  • Familiarity with process mapping, state diagrams, workflow design, UI mockups, and UML documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to think in systems — data states, status transitions, edge cases, and error paths — before a requirement reaches the development team.
  • Production support mindset — comfortable staying connected to what shipped, not just what’s next. Understands that a requirement isn’t done when development closes the ticket.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency with MS Office, MS Visio or Lucidchart, SharePoint, and MS Teams.
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, and Agile project management tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
  • Experience facilitating requirements discovery sessions and stakeholder workshops.
  • Strong understanding of Agile Scrum development processes and product lifecycle management.
  • Ability to multitask and adapt quickly to changing priorities and evolving business needs.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with both technical and non-technical audiences, including clients, vendors, operations teams, and senior leadership.
  • High level of organization, attention to detail, and time management.
  • Strong motivation to solve existing operational challenges while proactively identifying future opportunities and risks.
  • Familiarity with AI product concepts, workflow automation, and data-driven product enhancements preferred.
  • Comfortable using AI tools to accelerate documentation and analysis — treating AI as a thought partner, not a replacement for technical thinking.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and enhancement of AI-enabled product capabilities and workflow automation initiatives.
  • Lead the definition, refinement, and documentation of business requirements and product functionality, ensuring repeatable processes and delivery of measurable business value.
  • Own and prioritize the product backlog, translating business needs into epics, features, user stories, workflows, and supporting documentation.
  • Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple stakeholders, reconcile conflicting requirements, and decompose complex business processes into actionable technical requirements.
  • Gather and document new business requirements and guide them through workflow diagrams, state diagrams, UI mockups, UML diagrams, and process flows before development begins.
  • Leverage AI tools and agents to accelerate requirements documentation — including generating draft state diagrams, process flows, and user stories — while maintaining ownership of accuracy and technical completeness before handoff to engineering.
  • Identify and flag technical dependencies, integration points, and data flow implications as part of requirement definition — not just business outcomes.
  • Collaborate closely with architects, developers, designers, and business stakeholders to refine requirements and improve system and operational processes.
  • Document detailed acceptance criteria and perform functional testing to validate that business and technical requirements are successfully delivered.
  • Participate in sprint planning, release planning, backlog refinement, and Agile Scrum ceremonies.
  • Own the full lifecycle of what you ship — from requirement to production. Monitor how features perform with real users, gather feedback from support and operations, and bring that signal back into the next sprint cycle.
