About The Position

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Product Owner to drive the development and delivery of our web-based software applications. The ideal candidate will be adept at understanding client needs, translating them into actionable requirements, and ensuring the development team delivers high-quality solutions on time. In this role, you will act as a key liaison between clients, stakeholders, and the development team—managing product backlogs, writing Jira stories, validating deliveries, and communicating timelines effectively. You will also oversee software configuration for client usage and ensure successful project outcomes by creating and reviewing Statements of Work (SOWs) and managing project plans.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or a similar role in web-based software development projects.
  • Proven experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
  • Ability to write clear and actionable user stories, requirements, and project documentation.
  • Strong experience with Jira or similar project management tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize development items, validate deliveries, and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills—verbal and written.
  • Experience in creating and reviewing Statements of Work (SOWs).
  • Ability to configure software applications to meet client-specific needs.
  • Experience in managing SaaS or web-based enterprise applications.
  • Familiarity with basic software architecture concepts and technical delivery processes.
  • Knowledge of tools such as Confluence, Figma, or similar for documentation and collaboration.
  • Prior experience in client-facing roles managing software delivery projects.

Responsibilities

  • Learn and gain deep knowledge of the product/application to act as the subject matter expert (SME).
  • Gather, analyze, and understand client requirements and write clear, detailed, and actionable Jira stories and epics for development teams.
  • Continuously groom and prioritize the product backlog to align with sprint goals and overall project objectives.
  • Own the backlog of the product, open new stories/bugs as reported, and close everything is done.
  • Lead sprint planning sessions and ensure the development team clearly understands the work scope and priorities.
  • Collaborate closely with the Scrum Master/Development lead to ensure timely delivery.
  • Validate deliverables against requirements and communicate feedback to the development team.
  • Ensure all deliverables meet the defined acceptance criteria, quality standards, and client expectations.
  • Gather and address client feedback to improve products and processes continuously.
  • Support user acceptance testing (UAT) to validate client readiness and adoption.
  • Act as the single point of contact for project timelines, ETAs, and project plans, ensuring stakeholders are kept informed at all times.
  • Communicate project progress, potential risks, and updates to both internal teams and external clients.
  • Create and review SOWs for software projects, ensuring alignment with client requirements and timelines.
  • Work with internal teams to scope software stories accurately and ensure deliverables are well-defined.
