About The Position

As a Product Owner, you will collaborate with Product Managers on the Euna Budget product line to refine prioritized roadmap initiatives and oversee their delivery. Working alongside a cross-functional team of Developers, and UX Designers, you will ensure the successful execution of requirements and achievement of the desired outcomes for each development cycle. You will be accountable for refining requirements, managing the backlog, and ensuring on-time delivery of projects in each cycle. We are looking for a Product Owner to join our growing SaaS product team. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, especially development, and help guide the product from concept to completion. You will take ownership of product features and enhancements, ensuring they meet customer needs while aligning with business goals. Working within an agile environment, you will transform high-level product initiatives into clear, actionable tasks, supporting the development team throughout the process.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in a Product Owner role or similar, ideally within a SaaS or software organization.
  • Proven ability to break down complex features into clear, actionable user stories with acceptance criteria.
  • Solid experience in backlog management and release planning.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated experience and skill with: JIRA, Confluence, Business Analysis, SQL, Python, HTML, Technical Writing (user story writing), Backlog management, Wireframing, PowerPoint, Excel, Claude

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in GovTech
  • Previous experience in Project Management type roles, or Scrum Master type roles will be seen as an asset

Responsibilities

  • Break Down Features into User Stories: Work directly with the Product Manager (PM) and Development Lead to translate high-level features and business requirements into detailed user stories and acceptance criteria that can be executed in development cycles.
  • Collaborate with Dev Lead, Dev Manager, and Development Teams: During the development cycle, you are responsible for ensuring user stories are updated with feedback from the delivery stakeholders, ensuring they remain clear, actionable, and align with the product’s objectives.
  • Clarify Requirements: Continuously engage with both internal stakeholders and the development team to clarify requirements and ensure that every story has the right context and value.
  • Maintain the Product Backlog: Regularly update and prioritize the product backlog based on feedback from the Product Manager and other stakeholders. The backlog will include tasks, user stories, features, and technical debt, with clear deadlines and release timings.
  • Prioritize Tasks: Ensure the team is working on the most important tasks that align with target outcome for that development cycle. Maintain team accountability to the primary objective and communicate with the PM and key stakeholders if the team’s velocity indicates a potential to miss delivery of the stated primary or secondary outcomes for that project, for that cycle.
  • Work with the Product Manager: Collaborate with the Product Manager to ensure that your priorities align with overarching product initiatives and epics, providing transparency into progress.
  • Be Embedded with the Development Team: You’ll work closely with developers, UX/UI designers, and QA engineers. Be the go-to person for the team when they need clarification on requirements, scope, or specific details.
  • Provide Real-Time Guidance: During daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and refinement sessions, you’ll ensure that any questions or obstacles are promptly addressed, enabling smooth progress throughout the sprint cycle.
  • Define and Validate Acceptance Criteria: Write clear acceptance criteria for user stories to ensure that work is aligned with requirements and quality expectations. You’ll validate whether completed work meets the predefined acceptance criteria.
  • Accept or Reject Work: Evaluate the results of user stories at the end of each sprint to determine if the output meets the needs outlined. Provide feedback and work with the team to make any necessary adjustments.
  • Adapt to Changing Priorities: Based on feedback, customer needs, or evolving market conditions, adjust the product’s priorities. Work with the development team to ensure the highest-priority features are always being delivered.
  • Ensure Flexibility: Be prepared to pivot when new information comes to light, ensuring that the team focuses on delivering the most valuable features at any given time.
  • Represent the Customer’s Interests: Act as the customer’s voice, advocating for user needs within the development process. Prioritize features based on customer feedback, ensuring that what’s being built aligns with their needs and pain points.
  • Customer Feedback Loop: Facilitate ongoing customer feedback sessions and user testing to continuously refine product direction. Ensure that feedback is communicated clearly to the development team.
