Product Owner, Web Experience

MGMA-ACMPECentennial, CO
$105,000 - $120,000Hybrid

About The Position

The Product Owner, Web is accountable for delivering MGMA’s entire web platform — the public marketing site, all member and customer portals, and the integrations that connect them — a mission-critical channel for member acquisition, engagement, and revenue. Working from the priorities set by the Project Manager, this role owns the product backlog end to end, turns priorities into high-quality, released features, and drives complex, multi-workstream delivery through MGMA’s Product Development Life Cycle (PDLC) from idea to launch. Operating across business, design, engineering, and external vendor teams, the Product Owner leads day-to-day delivery — translating priorities into clear, buildable work, making the execution decisions that keep multiple workstreams moving, and remaining accountable for on-time, high-quality outcomes the organization relies on.

Requirements

  • Deep Agile/Scrum and Product Development Life Cycle (PDLC) background — fluent across discovery, definition, delivery, and post-launch phases, with hands-on experience leading backlog grooming, sprint planning, and release cycles.
  • Strong software development background — partners credibly with engineers on architecture, APIs, integrations, technical tradeoffs, and estimation, and translates business needs into clear technical requirements.
  • Strong product-ownership fundamentals — backlog management, writing user stories and acceptance criteria, and translating priorities into delivery.
  • Working fluency with modern web platforms (headless/hybrid CMS, front-end concepts) sufficient to scope and sequence work with engineering.
  • Proven track record of delivering measurable product outcomes through data-driven prioritization and experimentation.
  • Familiarity with backlog/Agile tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps) and analytics (e.g., GA4); comfort reading Figma and CMS workflows.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills — clearly presents product priorities and the roadmap to stakeholders across the business.
  • Experience managing vendors, agencies, or freelance teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passionate about building accessible, high-performing, and user-friendly digital experiences.
  • Three (3) or more years of experience in a product owner, product manager, or equivalent role delivering digital products, including leading complex, cross-functional initiatives and owning delivery of organization-wide or enterprise digital platforms end to end.
  • Two (2) or more years operating within a defined PDLC and Agile/Scrum delivery environment, partnering directly with software engineering teams.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience collaborating with developers on web platforms and system integrations (e.g., CMS, APIs, AMS/CRM) preferred.
  • Healthcare or Association experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end delivery of MGMA’s full web portfolio — the marketing site, all member and customer portals, and every system integration — accountable for the backlog, delivery quality, and the business outcomes these assets drive.
  • Define the target experience across all web touchpoints — landing pages, navigation, forms, and content modules — and hold delivery accountable to a consistent, high-quality standard.
  • Partner with business and marketing leadership to translate brand, growth, and content goals into well-defined, user-first product work.
  • Act as the voice of the product — maintain customer and stakeholder feedback loops and represent product needs in cross-functional decisions.
  • Fully manage the execution of the problems worth solving — partnering with CX, research, and data to turn them into solutions and drive them through to delivery.
  • Champion experimentation — A/B testing, personalization, and conversion optimization — owning the hypotheses and success criteria behind each test.
  • Champion a simple, intuitive user experience — advocating for clarity, ease of use, and accessible design across the web.
  • Lead design, content, and SEO to create a strong product — shaping information architecture and messaging, then writing the user stories and acceptance criteria that turn them into buildable work.
  • Maintain a healthy, well-groomed backlog and translate the Project Manager’s priorities into clear user stories with acceptance criteria across each PDLC phase.
  • Partner with engineering and external dev teams to scope and refine work for delivery, serving as the team’s single source of truth for what “done” looks like.
  • Own backlog acceptance — review completed work against acceptance criteria, coordinate UAT, and decide what is release-ready.
  • Partner closely with the Scrum Master as a key stakeholder — the Product Owner does not own the Scrum Master role, but works with them to keep delivery running smoothly and ensure work is completed properly.
  • Own delivery of all portals (member, customer, and any future portals), building features against user journeys and broader web experience standards.
  • Own delivery of web integrations — partner with engineering to ensure all sites and portals connect cleanly with backend and third-party systems (e.g., AMS, CRM, marketing automation, analytics, payment).
  • Lead a cross-functional delivery team — managing one direct report and directing a shared pod of specialists (e.g., Web Designer, Web Producer, SEO Specialist) — to deliver against the backlog and clear priorities.
  • Direct delivery through external agencies, freelancers, and technology vendors, holding them accountable to product requirements, quality, and brand standards.
  • Own intake of content updates and landing-page requests, and gather stakeholder input to feed the backlog.
  • Define success metrics up front and validate shipped work against them post-launch (e.g., engagement, form completion, conversion), feeding learnings back into the backlog.
  • Work closely with our analytics resources to identify pain points, user behavior patterns, and opportunities for optimization.
  • Report on delivery progress, product performance, and business impact to senior product and business leadership.
  • Track web performance: site speed, all core web vitals, including engagement and drive improvements into the project workstream.
  • Direct supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; coaching, mentoring, and providing guidance; planning, assigning, and directing work; setting goals, appraising performance, and recognizing achievements; addressing performance or behavioral issues; and resolving employee concerns.
