About The Position

The Charles River Development (CRD) Middle Office Product Team is seeking an experienced Product Owner to lead our Post Trade product development team. This team is responsible for workflows supporting trade confirmation, matching, clearing, and settlement. As the Product Owner, you will be responsible for defining and owning the strategic roadmap for the post trade product, and partner with engineering to deliver against it. You will act as a Charles River product expert and help to ensure that our software effectively supports our end users with their trade management and broader middle office workflows. You will be a leader in the full software development lifecycle, including managing business analysts within a feature-focused product development team. You will also partner closely with clients and internal teams across sales, relationship management, implementation, and support.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of software development lifecycle experience, specifically Agile development methodologies and familiarity with tools such as Jira.
  • Strong domain in expertise in post trade processing / trades management including trade confirmation, matching, clearing, settlement.
  • Experience working with 3rd party vendors / venues and developing product workflow and data integrations.
  • Experience defining product strategy, managing roadmaps and prioritization, and reliably delivering against plans and commitments.
  • Comfortable working with clients, explaining product capabilities, and understanding complex requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability translating business requirements into comprehensive functional and technical product specification documents.
  • Ability to take a highly organized and detail-oriented approach to the product development lifecycle.
  • A desire to take an ownership mindset, leadership skills, and a proven track record managing and mentoring business analysts.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including negotiation skills and the ability to manage multiple internal and external stakeholders.
  • Advanced writing skills, including the ability to abstract/summarize highly detailed information.
  • Strong analytical skills, including understanding complex data sets and the ability to reconcile conflicting data.
  • Strong technical background, including familiarity with relational database (SQL,Postgres) and knowledge of cloud architecture.
  • BS Degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or study of Business with an MIS background.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledgeable in one or more CRD functional areas and/or State Street Alpha desirable.
  • MS/MBA is preferable.

Responsibilities

  • Apply detailed knowledge and understanding of trade confirmation, matching, and settlement to own the planning and delivery of the product roadmap.
  • Work directly with clients, sales, professional services, implementation, and support teams to gather product requirements and develop feature specifications.
  • Perform competitive analysis and keep track of industry and regulatory trends to incorporate into the product roadmap.
  • Partner with Engineering and QA to develop, implement, and refine features.
  • Plan and execute large, complex product development initiatives and handle associated project management tasks.
  • Work with other product teams on cross-product initiatives and effectively manage dependencies.
  • Represent the Post Trade product in sales exercises and client implementations to ensure continued growth and success of the product.
  • Assist with support issues, ensure timely resolution, and translate issues into features / bugs where appropriate.
  • Produce and maintain product documentation and client-facing sales and educational materials.
  • Lead a team of business analysts, directing their work and supporting their development.
  • Take a leadership role in the agile software development process and adhere to the CRD Scrum Methodology.
